About The Conference
Higher GDP and development levels have been linked with greater energy use, access, reliability, and affordability (World Bank, 2022). There is no route to economic development without greater energy consumption (World Bank, 2022). Energy availability and access take a center stage in national discussions as it enables job creations and the development of essential services such as education or healthcare. More than 600 million people in Sub-Saharan Africa are living without electricity according to World Bank research. Reports from SEforAll indicate that achieving SDG 7 will accelerate the achievement of ten out of seventeen SDGs because of the dependence of the other SDGs on renewable energy. While countries in the African continent are committed to achieving SDG7 which is ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all by 2030, various studies have shown that the major challenges in the renewable energy sector include the high cost of renewable energy solutions, the lack of knowledge about them, the absence of technologies that are suitable to the local context, low research and development efforts, and technical skills gap in the field of clean energy. The Africa International Conference on Clean Energy and Energy Storage event seeks to identify practicable approaches to utilizing Africa's significant solid mineral reserves to develop energy storage that will drive energy transition in Africa and the rest of the world. The conference also seeks to identify practical approaches for the clean transition in Africa through research. Other objectives of the conference are; Tinker solutions that are fit for Africa. This is why this conference brings the academia, industry, and regulators to be in one space to discuss issues that concern the clean energy sector and energy storage in Africa. Ignite research specific to the clean energy sector in Africa for research driven clean energy transition and energy storage policies.
The scope of the conference is both contemporary and original research, innovative solutions for the clean energy sector, and energy storage systems. The themes of the conference include (but are not limited to);
Energy storage
Hydrogen development in Africa
Battery materials and manufacturing in Africa
Energy transition in Africa
Energy transition economics
Mini – grids
Clean mobility
Clean cooking
Energy transition finance
Call For Research Paper Submission
Having identified that energy storage is critical to the transition from polluting fuels to cleaner energy, Tonipash Sustainable Energy Talk™, a flagship clean energy and climate change awareness program by Tonipash Energy is organising the first ever Africa International Conference on Clean Energy and Energy Storage to hold on the 9th and 10th November, 2023. Tonipash Energy is supported by the Energy Access and Renewable Energy Technology programme offered by Offshore Technology Institute, University of Port Harcourt.
Submission Of Abstract
The AICCEES 2023 Conference welcomes abstract submissions from researchers in the academia, clean energy industry experts, policy makers and regulators, mining companies, clean energy companies, E-mobility Companies, and the general public.
All abstracts received will be compiled in a book of Abstracts supplement. Abstracts should be a maximum of two pages and must be submitted with the template here.
All abstracts will be peer reviewed by at least two independent reviewers from our Scientific Committee who will evaluate whether the abstract is scientifically sound and coherent, and whether it duplicates already published work. After abstracts are reviewed and accepted, researchers will be informed of the acceptance to proceed to make payment for the abstract publication if only abstracts will be published.
Plagiarism tests will be conducted for abstracts submitted. All submission of abstracts and papers should be made to AICCEES2023@gmail.com
